Sing a song of buttercups, Filled with golden sun. Sing a song of daisy flowers, Summertime’s begun! Sing a song of singing birds, Singing just for fun. Sing a song of summertime, Yes, summer has begun!

Over in the meadow In the pond in the sun, Lived an old mother duck And her little duck one, "Quack!" said the mother, “I Quack!" said the one, And they quacked and were happy In the pond in the sun.

Over in the meadow In the stream so blue, Lived an old mother fish And her little fish two, "Swim!" said the mother, "We swim!" said the two, And they swam and were happy In the stream so blue.

Over in the meadow In the nest in the tree, Lived an old mother bird And her little birdies three, "Sing!" said the mother "We sing!" said the three, And they sang and were happy In the nest in the tree.

Over in the meadow On a rock by the shore, Lived an old mother frog And her little frogs four, "Jump!" said the mother, "We jump!" said the four, And they jumped and were happy On the rock by the shore.

Over in the meadow In a big beehive, Lived an old mother bee And her little bees five, "Buzz!" said the mother, "We buzz!" said the five, And they buzzed and were happy In the big beehive.

Over in the Meadow

Here is the beehive, Where are the bees? Hidden away where nobody sees. Watch and you’ll see them come out of the hive, One, two, three, four, five! Bzzzzz.....all fly away!

{Emilie Poulsson}

Little bees work very hard, Making golden honey, Taking nectar from the flowers, When the days are sunny.

We're busy, busy all the day, Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! We do not have time to play, Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!

Little Bees

I saw a little birdie coming hop, hop, hop! And I said little birdie, won’t you stop, stop, stop? Won’t you stop a moment and play with me? But he wagged his little tail and away flew he.

I saw a little fishie come swimming past, And I said, little fishie why do you swim so fast? Won’t you stop a moment and play with me? But he wagged his little tail and swam down to the sea.

I saw a big, big cow saying moo, moo, moo, And I said big, big cow how do you do, do, do? Won’t you stop a moment and play with me? I’m too busy eating grass to make your milk, said she.

Ring around the rosies, pockets full of posies Ashes! Ashes! We all fall down! The cows are in the meadow, eating buttercups Achoo! Achoo! We all jump up!

Here is a rabbit And here are his ears And here is his hole in the ground. When a noise he hears He pricks up his ears, And jumps in his hole in the ground!

Slowly, slowly, very slowly, Goes the garden snail, Slowly, slowly, very slowly, Up the garden rail.

Little Robin Redbreast sat upon a rail. Niddle noddle went his head, Wiggle waggle went his tail.

This is a nest for a robin, This is a hive for a bee. This is a hole for a bunny, And this is a house for me!

If I were a bird, I’d sing a song And fly about the whole day long, And when the night came go to rest Up in my little cozy nest.
