Would you love to have a tribe of support for your third grade year?
How would you like to get together each month with a lovely group of like-minded mamas for conversation, connection, and support from Kelly?
I would love to invite you to join our Third Grade Co-op!
We’ll meet once a month on a live video chat for real-time conversation and connection as you go through your third grade year. I’ll lead these calls and be there for any support you need, to share my experiences and ideas, and answer any questions you have. But the real magic will be in coming together as a tight-knit community!
Co-op also includes membership in a private forum where you can chat with each other at any time, brainstorm, support each other, and share pictures! This isn’t on Facebook and it’s not a clunky old-school forum or email list either.
Our Call Schedule
Co-op meets monthly on Fridays 3:00-4:00pm ET.
We’ll have ten sessions total from July 2017 through May 2018 (no call in December). Each call will be a live video chat on Zoom (this is similar to Skype).
I recommend joining this Co-op if you can make most of the live calls. This is truly a community group with lovely support and conversation happening in real time! Calls will be recorded and you’re welcome to send in questions in advance, so if you need to miss a call or two you’ll still have support from Kelly. Our private forum will be open 24/7 for connecting and sharing with each other all year long.

Enrollment Minimum: Please note, this co-op will run if we have a minimum of ten parents enrolled by July 14th. If we under-enroll we’ll have to cancel the program, and 100% of your fee will be refunded immediately.
Refund Policy: There are no refunds for Third Grade Co-op! I’m committing to this group and blocking off the time for the calls on my calendar in advance, and I would like you to do the same. I’m looking forward to offering this wonderful co-op community to anyone who is interested in joining for the full year and showing up for each other! Please scroll down for more info and FAQs if you’re not sure if this is the right fit.
Meet Your Co-op Leader
I’m Kelly Ehrman, the author of the Lavender’s Blue Homeschool curriculum and blog. My brain is buzzing with ideas for third grade that I would love to share with you! Most of all, I know how wonderful it would be to have a small group of like-minded mamas going through the same grade all together. And if we could get together once a month for a cup of tea and a face-to-face chat? That would be amazing. I’m so excited to host that space for you in an online but real-life connected community.
This coming year I’ll be teaching 5th grade and 2nd grades with my daughters Aiya and Sierra. Aiya was in 3rd grade during the 2015-2016 school year. Not only was this a magical year, and one of my favorites in the Waldorf curriculum sequence, but I learned so much going through it the first time that I would love to share with you.
By the end of Aiya’s third grade year, I had a good sense of how I would map out the year into a fully developed curriculum, so I passed this outline on to my Second Grade Pioneers group (these were the families who “beta-tested” our second grade curriculum). I was surprised at how popular this outline was – the response was so positive, and parents let me know even months later how much it helped them with third grade planning. I’m expanding this outline into the Third Grade Treasure Map which will be available this summer! From there, I’ll be creating the full third grade curriculum with Math coming out in August 2017 and the rest of the curriculum coming out in spring and summer of 2018.
If you’re teaching third grade this year you won’t have the full curriculum available to guide you. I wish I could create it faster, but my focus for Lavender’s Blue has always been on quality not speed. This co-op is forming in response to a request from a dear Lavender’s Blue mama (Hi Julia!) who had the beautiful idea of monthly calls with like-minded community and support. I loved this idea too, so let’s do it!
Are you offering Co-op groups for other grade levels?
I’m considering offering a Nursery Co-op or co-ops for other grade levels depending on interest! If you’d like to form another Lavender’s Blue co-op please let me know.
Can I join this group if I can’t make the calls?
I strongly recommend you check the call schedule before you sign up and plan to make most of the calls. This group is intended to function like a real co-op where we get to meet in person for real-time conversation with friends (in this case by video chat)! Just like if you join a local co-op, there may be a meeting here or there that you need to miss because of your schedule or things that come up. In that case, you are welcome to send in questions in advance, keep checking in in our private forum, and all calls will be recorded for you. Go ahead and check that schedule, put those calls on your calendar, and sign up for co-op! I have a feeling you’ll look forward to our live calls all month.
Can I join for just a call here or there, or decide later if I’d like to join?
Unlike your typical facebook group, this Co-op is going to be a tight-knit community that really gets to know each other, support each other, and get support from Kelly throughout their third grade homeschool year. In order to make this a community, it’s only open to mamas who enroll for the whole year by July 14th, and we need ten participants to run the co-op.
Do I need to have my video on? What if my child needs me during the call?
Each call will be a live video chat on Zoom (this is similar to Skype). I encourage you to leave your video on so we feel like we’re in the room together! I’ll be able to mute/unmute everyone’s microphone as needed so we’re not all talking over each other at once. You can also mute yourself as needed if someone’s crying or a loud truck is going by. And you can also set your screen to see everyone at once or just the person who is talking, depending on your preference.
No need to change out of your yoga pants, ladies, we’re a low-key group. Also, we are a breastfeeding-positive community and we’re totally not worried about it if you nurse and talk. You can choose to turn off your camera or mic at any time if you need to deal with anything “off-screen” (we’re all mamas, so we understand babies waking up from naps and toddlers needing attention!) but please show up with the intention to “sit around the table” with your new Co-op friends and chat!
I have another question not answered here!
Thank you for letting me know, and we would be happy to answer it! Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I would be thrilled to meet you each month in our Third Grade Co-op! xo, Kelly
