Song: Girls and Boys Come Out To Play

If you've been reading my blog or newsletter for long, you'll know that I love using songs as part of our daily rhythm.  Singing is such a gentle way to help children transition from one activity to the next.  Last year I sang this song when it was time for circle and I decided to use a new song this year.  Here it is - an old Mother Goose song.   {Traditional music and lyrics; sung by Kelly Ehrman} Girls and Boys Come Out to Play

Girls and boys come out to play,

The moon doth shine as bright as day.

Leave your supper and leave your sleep

And come to your playfellows in the street.

Come with a Whoop!  Come with a call,

Come with a good will or not all.

Up the ladder and down the wall,

A half-penny roll will serve us all.

You find milk and I'll find flour,

And we'll have pudding in half an hour!
